About Us

SHBS was started because of a desire I had to share Godly, biblical teaching and counseling online. As a minister, I was surprised at how much the online bible studies consisted of pop psychology and ‘feel-good’ messages. My own experience showed that people around me were really hungry for true bible study – the ‘meat’ of the Word of God.

Also, as a chaplain and Christian counselor at a local Christ-centered drug rehabilitation center and homeless mission, I increasingly saw how liberating it was for men in bondage to hear the solid teachings of God from Scripture.

My desire is to honor God by delivering quality bible studies that small groups, churches, individuals, and others can use to really dive into God’s word and discover that God is real, that He love us, and how we can better know and relate to Him.

About Rob Willmann:
I’m a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m married to Tammy, and have two wonderful children. I’ve worked as a local pastor of a baptist church in a bi-vocational position, and I’ve also worked full-time for a couple of years as a Christian counselor and chaplain at the Waterfront Rescue Mission here in Mobile, AL. I am a full-time tech employee for a local phone company, and I am currently involved in ministry through Crosspoint Baptist Church here in Mobile, AL as an elder, sitting under the accountability and authority of Dr. Rick Cagle. I’ve also worked overseas on short-term missions trips to the Garw valley in MidGlamorgan, Wales, UK, and plan on doing more extensive work in that area.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Alabama in percussion, and I have 2 years of Master-level studies in jazz and percussion from Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD.

I am also a certified Christian counselor through the Biblical Counseling Institute, (led by an amazing Christian – Dr. Ab Abercrombie). I have lots of experience counseling men with addiction issues using Scripture as the basis for leading them to Christ. (I am not an integrationist, and believe the Bible is 100% sufficient when it comes to counseling in today’s postmodern world.)

None of this matters compared to the riches of know Christ as my Lord and Savior. Jesus the Christ is who saved me, and it’s who I cling to.
